Hello and welcome, friends, acquaintances, and strangers! I am glad to “see” you here! I thought that my first order of business should be to introduce myself, so here I go!
My name is Candace Harper, but some of you may know me better as Ceillie Simkiss. I am not currently published under this name, but I have several projects planned or in the works that I’m thrilled about. I hope that you’ll be as thrilled about them as I am!
I’m queer, specifically a panromantic asexual cis woman. Now, you may be thinking, why is an asexual author writing sexy romances? Because I can, that’s why. I’m engaged to an allocishet white man and we’ll get married… when we can afford it. I am also neurodivergent, which means that my brain does not work the way a typical brain is supposed to. I am autistic and ADHD, and I struggle with the effects of anxiety and depression every day. I take medication for all of this, and it helps. I’m not that great at hiding it.
I’m a freelance writer by day, so I know a lot of information about a lot of strange things – from the intricacies of municipal solid waste management to flamingo floaties to the science of sleep. You’d think that last one would help me get more sleep, but somehow, that is not the case! Go figure. I love learning about different careers and the people in them!
Things I love:
- Animals! (all sorts!)
- Music! (Classical to hip hop!)
- Reading! (Duh!)
- Commas! 😉
- The Sims!
- The Wizard of Oz movie
Things I Hate:
- Peas. (Every Sort. *shudder*
- Washing dishes.
- Shitty Humans (Racists, Transphobes, Homophobes, etc.)
- Noises I Can’t Control.
- Hetero- and Cisnormativity.
If you’ve read all the way through this, thanks for sticking with me! I’m so glad to meet you and I hope you’ll stick around!
